It was a great weekend of hockey for the Vanderhoof Bears this past Saturday and Sunday at the 19th Annual Shane Davis U11 Tier 1 hockey tournament. The Bears went undefeated in the tournament starting on Saturday morning opening the two-day event with a 10-1 win over the PGMHA Dark Knights, and a 8-0 shut-out on Saturday afternoon against the PGMHA Blue Devils in their second game of the day. Vanderhoof then defeated the PGMHA Serpents by a score of 5-2 on Sunday morning.
Sunday's champion final saw the Bears face off against the Williams Lake Storm. The game was fairly evenly matched, going back and forth, until the 3rd period when the Bears put their foot on the gas ultimately claiming the title with a 7-3 win over the Storm.
