CALGARY -- The UNBC Northern Timberwolves appear well on their way to playing in Saturday night's gold-medal game at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball championship.
At halftime, in Friday night's semifinal, the Timberwolves lead the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics of Halifax 50-23. The T-wolves, who started very slowly in their opening-round game on Thursday and needed a comeback to beat Fanshawe College, came out with purpose in the semifinal and were deadly from the field. They drained nine of their 14 three-point attempts and had a total field goal percentage of .581.
Guard Jose Araujo, with 11 points, led the Timberwolves in the half.
