Black Diamond bowling team off to nationals

Prince George bowlers were right on target at the 4 Steps to Stardom YBC five-pin provincial championships Saturday in Surrey and Langley. The first-place team in each division rolled all the way to nationals in Toronto from May 2-4.

The first-place team in each division rolled all the way to nationals in Toronto from May 2-4.

One of those teams is the senior girls squad from Black Diamond Lanes that includes Kassidy Johnson, Megan Reimer, Lezzyl Aquino and Paige Meise, who won the provincial gold medal with a four-game score of 3,759 points.

The team from Port Coquitlam Bowl won the silver medal with 3,327 points, while a crew from Brechin Lanes in Nanaimo grabbed the bronze medal with 3,137 points.

Jadyn Arnett from Black Diamond Lanes won the bantam girls singles title with a five-game score of 996 points. She also earned a trip to nationals.

Nikki Arno of Scottsdale Lanes in Surrey took home the silver medal with 916 points, while Miranda Eby of Brechin Lanes picked up the bronze medal with 872 points.

Jesslyn Arnett of Black Diamond Lanes finished fifth in junior girls singles with a score of 802 points.

The bantam girls team from Black Diamond Lanes placed fourth with a four-game score of 1,957 points.

Scottsdale Lanes won the gold medal with 2,389 points.

On the boys' side, Jordan Arnett of Black Diamond Lanes rolled to the senior silver medal with 1,168 points, 169 points behind gold-medal winner Brandon Kirk of Willowbreak Lanes in Langley.

The Nechako Lanes team of Dean Florell, Will Peters, Ryder Darin and Ben Hendrickson won the junior boys bronze medal with a score of 3,048 points.

A squad from Port Coquitlam Bowl won the gold medal with 3,287 points, and a team from Willowbrook Lanes picked up the silver medal with 3,052 points.
