The BX Pub Bandits are back in the thick of the battle in the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association final.

The Bandits convincingly won their first game of the best-of-seven series Wednesday night at Kin 1, beating the College Heights Pub Assault 9-4.

Jeff Moleski and Brett Doig each fired two goals for BX Pub, with singles from Jared Rossi, Mike Blondin, Damon Calfa, Mike Engbrecht and Mitch Marsolais. League MVP Dave Jenkins Jr., Tom Makowsky, and Geof Ronan were among the Assault goalscorers.

College Heights Pub hit the floor Wednesday having won their past five playoff games, dating back to their three-games-to-two defeat of the defending-champion Shooters Pub Devils. The Assault won Game 1 of the final 8-7 in overtime, then rallied from a seven-goal deficit to beat the Bandits 17-16 in Game 2 on Monday.

Tyler Gould got the job done in the Bandits nets, making 33 stops. Assault goalie Russill Mills had a busy night, turning aside 53 shots.

Game 4 of the series is tonight at 8 p.m. at Kin 1.
