The Prince George Cougars beat the WHL trade deadline to add one more player to their roster.
They acquired 18-year-old forward Cole Peardon from the Red Deer Rebels for a fifth-round pick in 2026.
In 23 games split between the Rebels and Prince Albert Raiders this season Peardon has a goal and four assists.
Over his 133-game WHL career the six-foot, 180-pound native of Outlook, Sask., has 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points.
Picked 13th overall by the Raiders in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Peradon went on to play for Team Canada in the World Under-17 Challenge in 2022.
“Cole is a former first-rounder that the scouts think has untapped potential,” said Cougars general manager and head coach Mark Lamb.
“He is a left-handed shot that plays a responsible game and is a good penalty killer.”
The Cougars, who posted a thrilling come-from-behind 6-5 victory Wednesday over the Vancouver Giants, play Friday in Kelowna and Saturday in Kamloops.
