Prince George Cougars right winger Zac Funk has been named the Western Hockey League‘s player of the month for September/October.
The 20-year-old native of Coldstream currently leads the WHL scoring race with 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists).
Cougars general manager and head coach Mark Lamb acquired Funk last year at the Jan. 10 trade deadline in a trade for forward Carter MacAdams, a second-round prospect draft pick in 2023 and the Cougars’ second- and fourth-round picks in 2024.
The six-foot, 210-pound Funk finished the 2022-23 season with eight points in 10 games and now has 56 points and a plus-26 rating in 45 regular season games with the Cats.
