The Prince George Cougars have signed 2006-born forward Terik Parascak.
He is the 78th overall selection in the 2021 WHL prospects draft and has signed a Western Hockey League standard player agreement.
“Terik is an offensively gifted player who can score, and his stats speak for themselves,” Bob Simmonds, Cougars director of scouting, said.
“It was readily apparent Terik put in the time this summer to train and prepare for camp as he had a really strong training camp. He was dominant and you noticed him every time he was on the ice either with veteran players or other young prospects. Terik will be a big part of our future. We are thrilled to welcome Terik and his family to the Cougars.”
The forward from Lethbridge, AB spent the 2021-22 season with Edge School Prep U16 of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League where he displayed considerable scoring punch.
Parascak led the league in points with 98 (55G-43A) in just 34 regular season games and was named the league’s most valuable player. Parascak also suited up in seven games for the Edge U18 club and scored seven times in four games.
The Cougars kick off their four-game pre-season schedule, beginning this weekend when they take on the Vancouver Giants (Friday) and the Victoria Royals (Saturday) at the Jon Baillie Arena in Port Coquitlam, both at 7 p.m.
