Justin Feser scored three times in a 95-second span for a natural hat trick, part of a five-goal third period for the Tri-City Americans in a 7-3 win over the Prince George Cougars.
Feser, an 18-year-old from Red Deer, had just two goals in 12 games leading up to Friday's matchup with the Cougars. His linemate Patrick Holland, an 18-year-old from Lethbridge, finished with a goal and five assists as the Americans improved to 9-3-1-0.
The loss ended a five-game unbeaten streak for the Cougars (6-5-1-0).
Chris Driedger, a 16-year-old midget callup from Winnipeg, made 23 saves for his first WHL win. James Priestner and Ty Rimmer combined to make 30 saves in the Prince George nets.
Adam Hughesman, Jordan Messier, and Tanner Olstad, with his first of the season, also scored for the Americans. Brett Connolly fired his 12th and 13th of the season to lead the Cougars. Spencer Asuchak had the other Prince George goal.
The same teams meet again Saturday at CN Centre.
