Here's an offer kids aged 18 and younger can't refuse.
How would you like to try out martial arts, with no fees attached? Today from 4-7 p.m. at the AimHi gym at 950 Kerry St., several martial arts fitness clubs will join forces to offer kids hands-on demonstrations of their specialized sports.
The clubs involved include: Fist & Glove Karate, Freedom Taekwon-do, Korean Hapkido Institute, Nechako Karate, North Capital Judo, Prince George Akido, Prince George Judo, Inner City Boxing, Hart Wrestling and several other fitness clubs. Ryan Chiappe, a 30-year-old mixed martial artist and jiu-jitsu submission specialist, will be on hand to demonstrate some of the techniques that helped him win the King of the Cage Canadian middleweight title in November in Kelowna.
Fun is the theme of the day and chances are kids will be entertained when they get a chance to test their fighting ability in robotic boxing and gladiator jousting. Games of zorb-ball and box-and-bounce are also on the agenda today. All participants are eligible to win hourly prizes.
