In long-distance races, Sean Gaiesky eats up ground almost effortlessly. His fine form helped him to four victories in four starts at the Spruce Capital Invitational track and field meet.
At the Spruce Capital, held on the weekend at Masich Place Stadium, the 14-year-old Gaiesky cruised to gold medals in the 1,200-metre run and 1,500m steeplechase on Saturday. The next day, he was first across the finish line in the 2,000m run and the 800m run.
"He probably has the best form of any of the kids in the club, to be honest," said Brian Martinson, Gaiesky's coach with the Prince George Track and Field Club. "He's very, very efficient. He makes it look so easy. I wish all the kids could emulate what he does. I think it comes naturally, just from all the running and all the sports he does."
