As varsity university-level athletes, they’ve proven with their athleticism in soccer and basketball they belong to the UNBC Timberwolves pack.
That gets measured in goals, assists and saves for the soccer players and points, assists, steals, blocks and rebounds for those who play basketball.
Sports statistics aside, the student athletes at UNBC also compete for grades in the classroom and on Tuesday 15 of the TWolves highest achievers were recognized with U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian awards.
The 15 TWolves have all have attained a grade point average of 3.67 or higher (on a scale of 4.0) in their studies and they were the focus of dinner and ceremony Tuesday afternoon at Charles McCaffery Hall on the UNBC campus.
“One of the most rewarding parts of our year is when we get to recognize a special group of student-athletes who have achieved Academic All-Canadian status,” said Loralyn Murdoch, UNBC director of athletics and recreation.
“The 15 individuals recognized today have all played a valuable role in maintaining a standard and a culture of success at UNBC.”
