He just didn't think his front crawl would become so useful on the ice oval.

Krause made waves as he tripped and slid through a huge puddle of melting ice after a morning downpour and spring-like temperatures overnight turned the winter venue at Exhibition Park into one big water hazard.

It all worked out in the end, however, for Krause. The 40-year-old from Smithers overtook Prince George emergency room doctor Mike Smith in the pool at the Aquatic Centre and fished out his fourth overall Iceman title in a time of 1:48:45.
