Good thing they rented a big hall for tonight's Inner City Boxing Club party.

Inner City Boxing Club fighters Kenny Lally and Jag Seehra had career years, and their coach Bob Pegues was behind them every step of the way. Tonight starting at 7 p.m., Inner City will celebrate what was a breakthrough season with a party at the Kinsmen Community Complex -- 777 Kinsmen Pl. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will be used to fund boxing trips next season.

From the provincial championships in New Westminster and the national finals in Quebec, then on to Puerto Rico and Ecuador, Inner City made a name for itself in the boxing world and those accomplishments did not go unnoticed. Inner City was prominent at the Boxing B.C. awards, with Lally, Seehra and Pegues all winning major awards.

Lally was picked for the Elite Boxer of the Year Award, based on his national and international successes. He won the 54kg B.C. and Western Canadian titles, was a bronze medalist at nationals, then went on to fight for Team Canada in Puerto Rico and at the Elite Continental Championships in Ecuador, where he won the silver medal.

Seehra won the Freddy Fuller Award for best performance in the Road To Glory tournament series. He captured the Diamond Belt, Silver Gloves, Golden Gloves and Emerald Gloves titles and was also crowned 60kg provincial champion with three wins in New Westminster.

"The one for Jag is huge," Pegues said earlier. "That's the top boxer in the province -- of any age, of any level. He won the most that any boxer in B.C. won this year.

"They both had unbelievable years."

Pegues won the Harold Mann Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to boxing as a coach and fight card matchmaker. In 10 years with the club, Pegues has produced more than 30 national medalists.
