The Kelly Road Roadrunners wrestling teams put on quite a show at the school's invitational tournament, which took place this past weekend.
The male side of the Kelly Road team took top spot with 68 points, well ahead of second-place school Nechako Valley of Vanderhoof. On the female side, Kelly Road picked up 17 points to finish behind the 40-point effort of Smithers.
The remaining standings on the boys side finished like this: Prince Rupert (29 points), Chetwynd (29), Smithers (28), PGSS (26), Westside Academy (17), 100 Mile House (16), Mackenzie (15), and Quesnel's Correlieu secondary (10). On the girls side -- Mackenzie (17), PGSS (13), Nechako Valley (11), 100 Mile House (10), Prince Rupert (9), Columneetza of Williams Lake (9), Fort St. John (5), and Williams Lake (5).
Kelly Road boys who came out on top in their respective divisions included Dylan Henley (90-kilograms), Aaron Pitkethly (74kg), Alex Semeniuk (51kg), Karl Jean (60kg), Mark Walley (66kg), and Dylan Turmel (63kg).
On the girls side, Kelly Road was led by Denise Tompkins (51kg), the only local student-athlete to capture a girls division.
The only other local boy to top a category was Evan Smith of Westside Academy (57kg).
