A dozen Prince George minor hockey players were in their gear for the Under-16 B.C. Cup tournament, Friday through Sunday at CN Centre. When stacked up against top skaters and goalies from the rest of the province, they did just fine, thank you very much.

"I think the local guys fared really well," said P.G. resident Brent Arsenault, who helped decide which 54 players of the 160 in attendance will advance to a provincial camp in late June and early July in Penticton. From the provincial camp, 30 to 32 players will be shortlisted for possible Team B.C. duty at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax. "They competed and didn't look out of place at all. I was pretty happy with the calibre of some of those guys from Prince George."
