The Quesnel Millionaires may have slammed shut the playoff door the Prince George Spruce Kings were hoping to enter.

In the biggest game of the season for the two B.C. Hockey League teams, the Mills scored two unanswered goals in the third period and beat the Kings 3-2 Tuesday night at Quesnel Twin Arenas.

The win moved the Millionaires (12-33-3-6) five points clear of the Kings (12-38-0-4) for the last playoff spot in the Interior Division. Both clubs have six regular-season games remaining.

Quesnel's third-period goals came from Taylor Orser and Rigby Burgart.

The Kings -- on markers by Ben Woodley and Trent Murdoch -- led 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Shawn Mueller struck in the second period for the Mills.

Quesnel outshot Prince George 37-31.

Next up for the Kings is a Friday home game against the Penticton Vees.
