Mosquito Knights swarming in Kamloops

This weekend brings Step 2 in a three-step process for the city's youngest baseball rep team.

This weekend brings Step 2 in a three-step process for the city's youngest baseball rep team.

The Roga Contracting Knights, led by head coach Jason Schwing and assistants Mike Sutton and Connor Flynn, will open a tournament in Kamloops tonight with a matchup against Sherwood Park. Alta. The Knights, who play in the mosquito age group (9-10-year-olds) finished 2-2 at their first tournament of the year, three weeks ago in Lynden, Wash., and this weekend's games will provide the last inter-city competition before the provincial tournament in Kelowna over the August long weekend.

"We have seen so much improvement in the players, but nothing compares to the excitement they get at these tournaments," said Schwing.
