Senior boys and girls basketball season kicks off with ice breaker tournament

Senior boys and girls basketball season underway with ice breaker tournament this past weekend

Local senior boys and senior girls high school basketball teams kicked off their North Central basketball tournament season this past weekend at the CHSS Ice Breaker Co-ed Senior basketball tournament at the College Heights Secondary School gymnasium.

There were four games on tap Friday night that saw the College Heights Cougars take on the PGSS Polars, and the Duchess Park Condors take on the Shas Ti Kelly Road Grizzlies in senior girls action. In the senior boys games, it was the College Heights Cougars taking on the D.P. Todd Trojans and the PGSS Polars taking on the Shas Ti Kelly Road Grizzlies.

On Saturday there were eight games on the schedule with each of the four senior boys teams and four senior girls teams playing each other once.

On Saturday morning one of the senior girls games saw the College Heights Cougars take on the Duchess Park Condors. The Cougars won on their home court, defeating the Condors by a score of 79-35.

One of the Saturday boys games saw the College Heights Cougars take on the PGSS Polars in a midday match-up. The Polars defeated the Cougars by a score of 97-78.

Next up for the senior boys and senior girls teams will be the Condor Classic, taking place at Duchess Park Secondary School on December 16th and 17th.
