The peewee Knights baseball team knows how to win a tournament -- now the goal is to win the one that counts.

The 11-12-year-old Knights club, coached by Gary Allbee, Dean Kazakoff and Mike Correale, plans to repeat its performance from earlier this season in Lynden, Wa., where the team went 4-0 to win an international event. This time, the provincial title is in sight in Kelowna for a tournament that starts on Thursday.

The Knights actually made two trips to Lynden this summer, finishing at 1-3 the first time and running the table for a 4-0 mark the second time.

In Kelowna, the Knights will be part of a 10-team event, with the other entries coming from Cloverdale, Victoria, Kelowna, Vancouver, Campbell River, North Delta, Newton, Nanaimo and West Kelowna. Prince George will face West Kelowna, Newton, Victoria and Cloverdale in pool play, with the top team in each pool advancing to the playoff round.

Team members are Keiran Leboe, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Curry, Kyle Gendron, Ethan Donison, Baily McFaul, Bryan Allbee, Danny Rockwell, Nic Correale, Mathew Knight, Koltin Chasse and Myles Kazakoff.
