Prince George Cougars GM and head coach Mark Lamb was named the WHL BC Division Coach of the Year on Wednesday.
In addition, Lamb is a finalist for the WHL Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy for the WHL Coach of the Year.
“In his five seasons with the Cougars, the 2022-23 season has been Lamb’s most successful one posting a 37-24-6-1 record and locking up (fourth) spot in the Western Conference,” a statement issued by the Cougars said. “The 2022-23 season marks the fifth best regular season in the Cougars’ 29 years as a franchise. Lamb’s power-play was a major factor in the Cougar success this season, sporting the league’s second-best man advantage at 27.7 (per cent).”
Lamb and the Cougars are looking to win their best-of-seven, first-round playoff series against the Tri-City Americans. The Americans lead the series 2-1, ahead of tonight’s Game 4 at Toyota Centre in Kennewick, Wash.
