Prince George Cougars lost 4-1 to the Seattle Thunderbirds Friday night in Kent, Wash., in the first game in the best-of-seven WHL Western Conference semifinal series.
The Cougars’ only goal was scored by Koehn Ziemmer, while the Thunderbirds goals were scored by Dylan Guenther, who was good for two, Lucas Ciona and Prince George native Nico Myatovic collected his first of the playoffs.
This is the first time since 2007 the Cougars have made it into second round game play.
Next game is Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.
The Cougars are back on home ice Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19 at CN Centre.
