The Prince George Spruce Kings will host their annual alumni game Saturday afternoon.

The Prince George Spruce Kings are set to celebrate their final home weekend of the regular season.

The team will host a gala event at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, featuring hockey legend Dave “Tiger” Williams as the hot stove guest.

With only a few tickets remaining, fans interested in attending must purchase their tickets ($75 each) by 4 p.m. Friday by calling 250-564-1747.

The gala will also feature a fundraising portion, with jerseys from Bryan Trottier (Islanders), Lanny McDonald (Flames) and Darryl Sittler (Leafs) up for grabs. A BC Lions Getaway package is also available for bidding.

In addition, an online raffle is currently underway for three amazing jewelry prizes. The prizes include a 10K White Gold Wheat 18” chain with a .51 carat lab-grown diamond, a men’s Maserati watch and 14K gold tricolour gold hoop diamond cut earrings. Fans can participate in the raffle at https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/pgskgalajewelry, and there’s no need to attend the gala to win. Note that participants must be 19+ to enter.

The action shifts to the ice Saturday, March 29 with the Spruce Kings alumni game at 2:45 p.m., with doors opening at 2:30. The game will feature 36 former Spruce Kings players, with Williams also suiting up.

Tickets for the alumni game are available at https://bit.ly/PGSKAlumniGameDoubleheader, and all tickets include admission to the Spruce Kings’ 6 p.m. matchup against Powell River.

The regular season will come to a close on Sunday, March 30 with a final showdown against Powell River at 3 p.m.

The Spruce Kings head into the weekend three points behind the Langley Rivermen for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Coastal Conference. Prince George needs to win both games against Powell River and hope the Rivermen do not win either tonight at home to Coquitlam or on Saturday when they host first-place Chilliwack.

If the Rivermen (21-22-8-1) are held to a single point over the weekend and the Spruce Kings (21-25-4-2) gain four, Prince George would be awarded eighth place based on having more wins than Langley and would start the playoffs next weekend in Chilliwack.

Sunday's game will also be a special Parents Weekend celebration, where the Spruce Kings will honour the parents of the players in attendance.

Tickets for Sunday's game can be purchased at https://bit.ly/PGSK20242025Tickets.
