Prince George Spruce Kings dominate Grizzlies for an 8-2 home win Saturday

Kazumo Sasaki posted a hat-trick to lead scoring

The Prince George Spruce Kings played with the passion borne of Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Victoria Grizzlies to post a dominant 8-2 BC Hockey League win in Saturday's rematch at Kopar Memorial Arena.

The Kings posted three goals before the Grizzlies were able to answer with one. Forward Kazumo Sasaki lead the charge with two early goals, then completed the hat-trick with another in the third period.

Grizzlies forward Landon Mackie beat Spruce Kings goalie Carter Wishart in the closing minutes to make it 7-2 but the Kings kept up the onslaught with forward Cooper Williams scoring on a breakaway to make it 8-2.

The Spruce Kings (5-8-2-1, eighth in Coastal Conference) play the Cowichan Valley Capitals at home Friday at 7 p.m.
