On the highways leading into Prince George, trucks hauling horse trailers will be a common sight today.
Drivers and their four-legged passengers will be arriving in town for the Prince George Reining Horse Association's annual Ride N Slide and Derby. More than 400 competitors, from as far away as Saskatchewan, have registered for the event, which starts Thursday and runs through Sunday at the Agriplex.
The Ride N Slide is the biggest show of the year for the PGRHA.
"We'll be well over 400 entries and I think, so far, I've already got 100 horses booked into the grounds," association president Rob Kershaw said on Tuesday night. "Planning for this -- we're already planning for next year, this year, if you get my meaning. You're just continually on the go with this, for sure."
