He's a California boy with Canada on his mind.
Robert Rodriguez, a 22-year-old point guard from Sacramento, is intent on playing for the UNBC Northern Timberwolves men's basketball team. He was in Prince George on the weekend, taking shots with the Timberwolves and checking out the local landscape. His northern exposure was positive in every respect and he's hoping to be back for the start of the new season and school year.
"A lot of people are saying, 'California? Why are you leaving?'" Rodriguez said with a wide smile. "But, basketball is basketball and it's a good program, I've heard. I like the area, the people are nice and so are the players I've met."
