Scott breaks Law at B.C. Scotties

For the second year in a row, Kelly Scott beat Kelley Law in the final game of the B.C. Scotties Tournament of Hearts women's provincial curling championship.

For the second year in a row, Kelly Scott beat Kelley Law in the final game of the B.C. Scotties Tournament of Hearts women's provincial curling championship.

Scott, from Kelowna, defeated Law and her New Westminster foursome 5-3 Sunday afternoon at the Cloverdale Curling Club. Scott stole a single point in the 10th end to clinch the victory. Law was three inches too heavy with her final shot, a draw that could have sent the game to an extra end.

In last year's B.C. final, Scott topped Law 8-4.

At this year's tournament, the rinks met three times and Law easily won the other two games. In round robin, she hammered Scott 9-3. Then, in Friday's 1 vs. 2 playoff game, Law again dominated, winning 9-2.

Scott and Law both have Canadian and world titles on their curling resumes.

Scott will now represent B.C. at the national Scotties, Feb. 19-27 in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Prince George residents Jennifer Fewster and Patti Knezevic both led their teams to 3-6 records at provincials.
