A new president was elected in Prince George on the weekend.

During the B.C. Hockey annual general meeting, Friday to Sunday at the Civic Centre, Shannon Bell was chosen as the new leader of the organization, which oversees all things puck in this province.

In a secret ballot, Bell -- who previously held the vice presidency -- pulled in more votes than Rick Boekestyn, who was seeking re-election to the president's post. Also at the meeting, Wilf Liefke was chosen as the new vice president.
