The revolving door on defence continues to turn for the Prince George Spruce Kings.
The B.C. Hockey League team announced Tuesday it has acquired 19-year-old defenceman Isaac Holt from the Vernon Vipers for future considerations.
The six-foot-five, 220-pound native of Pembroke, Ont., was in his first season in the BCHL with the Vipers and was held without a point through nine games.
“Isaac is a veteran defenseman with good size and good hockey instincts,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “He’s also a great kid who will be a tremendous addition to the back end.”
Committed to NCAA Division 1 hockey future at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania, the left-hand shooting Holt brings two full seasons of junior experience from his time in the North American Hockey League playing for the Johnstown Tomahawks. In 96 games he collected four goals and 14 assists.
He also played 14 games as a 16-year-old in the Central Canada Hockey League.
On Saturday the Spruce Kings announced the acquisition of 19-year-old defenceman Trent LeDrew and future considerations in a trade with the Blackfalds Bulldogs.
In exchange, the Spruce King sent 18-year-old defenceman Aidan Souligny and the BCHL rights to 17-year-old centre Jared Langdon.
The Spruce Kings are in Powell River for a weekend set Friday and Saturday against the Kings.
