The Prince George Spruce Kings’ weekend road trip has been postponed.

The Kings were scheduled to play in Surrey on Friday and Merritt on Saturday, but due to the road closures that came as a result of the weekend rainstorm and the flooding of Merritt which forced the evacuation of the entire city of 7,000 people, the B.C. Hockey League has decided to postpone the games.

The league will work with the Spruce Kings, Surrey Eagles and Merritt Centennials to reschedule the games.

The Spruce Kings currently rank sixth in the Interior Conference with a 9-6-0-0-0 record.

Prince George centre John Herrington (10 goals, 12 assists) is tied with Matthew Wood of the Victoria Grizzlies atop the BCHL scoring race, each with 22 points.
