The Prince George Spruce Kings are in the Lower Mainland for their final road trip of the regular season and they’re in must-win territory, knowing their precarious position in the BCHL Coastal Conference standings.
The Spruce Kings (19-25-4-1) are four points out of a playoff spot.
That’s what separates them from the eighth-place Langley Rivermen (19-22-8-1) and with three games ahead of the Spruce Kings this weekend, all against playoff-bound teams, winning will not be easy.
They’re on the ice tonight at 7 in Coquitlam to face the Express (26-17-5-2), then will take on the first-place Chilliwack Chiefs (34-12-5-0) on Saturday (6 p.m.), before finishing it off with a Sunday matinee (3 p.m.) against the Surrey Eagles (29-17-4-0).
The games are webcast on Flohockey or you can download the broadcast from play-by-play announcer Kyle Anderson on Mixlr (audio only).
The Rivermen are in Alberta to face the Blackfalds Bulldogs tonight and Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday. They wrap up the regular season next weekend against Coquitlam and Chilliwack.
The Spruce Kings will host the Powell River Kings next Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at Kopar Memorial Arena.
