The draw for this $880,000 grand prize in the Spruce Kings Home Lottery will be made Friday at noon. All 12,000 tickets have been sold.

The Prince George Spruce Kings can rest assured heading into next season the community-owned team will have what it takes to pay the bills.

That’s thanks to everybody who bucked up to support the Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery.

The last of 12,000 tickets, priced at $125 each, was sold on Monday.

This Friday at noon, somebody will be getting a call from Show Home Lottery manager Liz Bennett with news that their lucky ticket has been drawn from the barrel at the show home That person will suddenly be the owner of the $880,000 furnished house, located in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision at 2834 Links Dr.

The Show Home Lottery and the two 50-50 draws provide the majority of the Spruce Kings’ annual operating budget, which allows them to compete in the B.C. Hockey League.

“It means the world to us,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “Lotteries are the lifeblood of the Spruce Kings and without those lotteries we don’t have team. We’re very fortunate to have it, it keeps us afloat.

“The fact the community has supported us again the way they have this year, we couldn’t be more appreciative.”

The Spruce Kings second Mega 50-50 draw is also on the way to a sellout, with only a few tickets remaining before the total maxes out at $300,000.

That draw will be made at 11:45 a.m. Friday and the winner will receive half of the total.

The first 50-50 of the season reached a $264,000 total.

On Feb. 3, Tanis Trottier’s ticket was drawn for a $132,000 payday.
