Strasdin cracks top 30

Jon Strasdin was on a mission to finish in the top 30 at the B.C. Amateur Golf Championship and that's exactly what he did Friday at Castlegar Golf Club.

The 17-year-old Prince George Golf and Curling Club member shot a 1-over 72 to end up in a five-way tie for 29th place. Shaw totaled 72-76-75-72--295 in the four-round event, leaving him at 11-over, 20 strokes off the winning pace of Adam Svennson of Surrey.

Svennson carded a 70 on Friday, leaving him at 8-under. His four-round total was 67-71-68-70--276, five shots ahead of Adam Cornelson of Vancouver, Darren Wallace of Langley and Yung Gu Shin of Pitt Meadows, who all finished at 3-under.

Cole Shaw of Prince George, a 23-year-old University of Victoria student, shot 78 Friday, totaling 73-73-83-78--307.
