It's the students versus the teachers and bragging rights are certainly on the line.
Ten teachers from Heather Park elementary school have bravely volunteered to take on a team of hungry students from the Heather Park Hockey Academy to try to settle the score in an hour-long hockey game starting today at 1 p.m. at the Elksentre.
The teachers will have their hands full knowing that Prince George Spruce Kings forward Braiden Epp and Cariboo Cougars major midget defenceman Jesse Pomeroy will be suiting up on the students' team.
"A lot of the kids play house league hockey and some of them just started hockey this year so it'll be a big thrill for them -- we're expecting a couple hundred students to come out for the game," said Heather Park Academy coach Rob Millar. "Ten teachers are playing in the game and they will all be bringing their classes to the rink."
The first session at the Academy involved Heather Park students in Grades 4-7 and that wrapped up in December. Combined, the two sessions involved 62 students.
"We had to divide it into two sessions, there were so many kids who wanted to play," said Millar
