UNBC basketball teams frozen out of wins in Regina

The TWolves teams now return West for a Friday-Saturday home double-header against the UBC Thunderbirds at the Northern Sport Centre.

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team dropped the back-half of their weekend double-header against the Regina Cougars 73-51 Saturday in Regina, while the UNBC men fell 74-65 to Regina’s men’s squad.

Rebecca Landry had a team-high 16 points for the UNBC women while Bella Mesquita and Amrit Manak each hit a pair of threes. Sveta Boykova grabbed 10 rebounds in a losing cause. Manak finished with 12 points. Mesquita and Adaiah Tupas-Singh both secured three steals.

Chris Ross and Spencer Ledoux each scored 15 for the UNBC men. Josh Gillespie added his fifth double-double of the campaign as he posted 11 points and 11 rebounds.
