Alyx Treasure's quest for gold at the IAAF world junior track and field championships in Moncton will be webcast live Friday morning.

The 18-year-old Prince George Track and Field Club member is among 33 competitors in the women's high jump event., which starts with the preliminary round today at 6 a.m. PT.

Treasure has to finish among the top 12 to advance to Sunday's final, which begins at 9:30 a.m. PT.

"She's feeling good about everything and she's positive," said PGTFC coach Tom Masich.

"She's enjoying herself and staying relaxed. She's getting in some good conditioning, maintaining her workouts and getting some jumping in."

n Eleven PGTFC athletes made the grade for the Cariboo-North East team at the B.C. Summer Games in Langley. Emma Balazs, Rebekah Hewitt, Zach Matyas, and Sean Gaiesky are entered in running events; Eric Kidwell Mary Kate Dalla Lana and Duncan Elliot are competing in jumping events; Amber Downie Back is in hurdles; and David Schroeter, David Folk and Sarah Frost have qualified for throwing events.

Competition starts Friday.
