TC Energy Corp. (TSX:TRP). Energy. Down 15 cents, or 0.24 per cent, to $62.51 on 8.8 million shares.
Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Materials. Down eight cents or 0.39 per cent, to $20.34 on 8.5 million shares.
Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Energy. Down 11 cents, or 0.27 per cent, to $40.72 on 6.6 million shares.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Energy. down 97 cents, or 1.4 per cent, to $68.54 on 5.8 million shares.
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TSX:TD). Financials. Up 17 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to $86.22 on 5.3 million shares.
Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Energy. Down 66 cents, or 2.78 per cent, to $23.06 on 5.1 million shares.
Companies in the news:
Stelco Holdings Inc. (TSX:STLC). Up $2.70 or 8.42 per cent to $34.76. The company is offering to buy back nearly half of its outstanding shares at a price of $35 per share. Under the substantial issuer bid, the company says it is looking to buy up to 30 million shares or 47.4 per cent of its outstanding shares for a total maximum purchase price of $1.05 billion. The terms of the offer are the same as a substantial issuer bid Stelco made earlier this year that saw the company buy back 5,165,133 shares for a total of nearly $181 million.
Hydro One Ltd. (TSX:H). Up 24 cents, or 0.69 per cent, to $35.14. The company says it is offering First Nations a chance to invest in a 50 per cent equity stake in new capital transmission line projects worth more than $100 million. The power utility announced the new plan following the signing of an agreement in the spring with eight First Nations represented by Gwayakocchigewin Limited Partnership for the Waasigan Transmission Line project.
