Westjet's season of direct flights between Prince George and Puerto Vallarta has been cut short by a month.
The last one out of Prince George is set for this Sunday as the airline takes measures to contain spread of COVID-19. Those returning will have to wait until April 22 and will be flying through Vancouver, according to the airline's website.
And the Prince George Airport Authority is asking those who return from travel outside of Canada to self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
To promote social distancing, those picking up and dropping off passengers can use the short-term lot at no charge as long as they accompany their vehicles at all times, PGAA said Tuesday.
"We are starting to see flight cancellations in and out of PG as people are self isolating
under the recommendation of public health," PGAA CEO Gordon Duke said.
"We continue to monitor the situation closely and keep in contact with our airline partners in regards to schedule changes."
