Discount air carrier Flair Airlines is entering the Prince George market.
On Thursday, the Edmonton-based airline announced a number of new routes, including flights from Prince George to Edmonton and Vancouver.
“We continuously receive requests from our passengers to service these communities,” Flair CEO Jim Scott said in a press release. “Many of these areas are experiencing reduced accessibility, and we know that Canadians need affordable air fares now more than ever. We are committed to supporting these communities across the country as they safely reopen to travel.”
Flair will fly Prince George to Edmonton starting on Aug. 22, and will be offered on Mondays and Fridays, with return flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
Service to Vancouver starts on Oct. 22, and will be offered Thursdays and Sundays, with return flights Fridays and Mondays.
The regional airline operates a fleet of six Boeing 737s.
The company said it has put additional safety measures in place to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic, including health screening before boarding, mask requirements and the use of HEPA filters to purify air onboard.
