RCMP have arrested suspects in relation to Friday morning's shooting that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
With the help of an emergency response team a warrant was executed Friday afternoon on a Giscome area home, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said during a media conference at the detachment.
Other than to say more than one person was arrested, Douglass declined to say how many were apprehended but added RCMP believe there may be others involved.
"At this time, this is an ongoing, changing very rapidly investigation so that's what we have at this point," Douglass said. "Certainly as more information comes to light, we will pass that on."
As of early Friday afternoon, the parking lot at an apartment building near the corner of 17th Avenue and Spruce Street remained ribboned off as investigators combed the scene for evidence.
RCMP were called to the scene at 12:20 a.m. where the found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers initiated first aid until medical first responders arrived on scene.
Douglass said it's too early to speak to what motivated the act.
As RCMP converged on the home where the arrests were made, Blackburn elementary school was locked down.
"We didn't ask them to, we didn't feel the children were at risk...the school district took the extra precaution," Douglass said.
