Teenager killed in two-vehicle crash

A 15-year-old girl is dead following a crash between a pick-up truck and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 16 and Vance Road on Friday. Police and emergency services were called to the scene at 12:30 p.m.

One person was killed and two others injured following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Vance Road early Friday afternoon.

A 15-year-old girl is dead following a crash between a pick-up truck and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 16 and Vance Road on Friday.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at 12:30 p.m. where they found a collision between a full-size pick up truck towing a loaded trailer and a small SUV. The 15-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the SUV, the 17-year-old driver of the SUV and the man driving the truck were all taken to hospital.

At approximately 6 p.m. the girl died as a result of her injuries. Both drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed until late Friday evening while investigators from Prince George and North District RCMP gathered evidence, causing substantial traffic delays in the area. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
