A Vanderhoof man faces sentencing on two firearms charges related to the shooting death of his cousin's fiance.
Verdicts of careless use or storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a licence were reached this week for Richard Gunnar Borne in Vanderhoof provincial court.
A sentencing hearing has been tentatively set for July 24 and August 15.
His cousin, Kayne Penner Sabbe, faces sentencing for manslaughter in B.C. Supreme Court in Prince George on July 7.
April Johnson, 18, died Dec. 21, 2012 from a bullet wound to her stomach. The incident occurred several hours earlier in Borne's mobile home and he owned the .22-calibre semiautomatic rifle that Sabbe was holding when it went off.
Because the act involved a firearm, Sabbe will be sentenced to at least four years in prison.
