I was out at my property at Purden Ski Resort cleaning up from a fire last fall when I noticed a lot of sulphur on top of the water in my well/pond and everywhere else. I saw it blowing off the trees last time. Must be from the volcanoes erupting in Alaska.
I also noticed that the mosquitoes this year are twice as big, and have 1 centimetre long stingers. They must have come with the sulphur. Alaska mosquitoes genetically evolved to get through the hide of cariboo and grizzly bears. If they breed here, which they more than likely will, it will change summer a bit. They are huge and noisier that the small ones. Makes sleeping and working outside a bit more difficult.
We will need more bug spray and better netting.
