After a horrific fortnight of illnesses including croup, pink eye and some sort of nasty cold which may or may not have been caused by getting the flu shot, I received a notice from my son's school about an outbreak of chicken pox.
I checked our kids vaccinations records and have discovered that they have not yet received their chicken pox booster because they are too young. In honor of the impending special treat of chicken pox (because that's the way my health luck has been going), I have penned a little poem in celebration of the event.
Please remember that although most of us in my generation had chicken pox and other childhood illnesses and came through them fine, there is a portion of the population that has compromised immune systems and illnesses such as chicken pox and measles can be deadly for them.
Do your part and don't listen to pseudoscience.

Maybe we'll all get measles too!
