In response to the schoolyard behaviour of a Vancouver FM Station DJ I ask that you publish the following response.
I understand via the media that a so- called intellectual FM station in Vancouver has used a body part analogy to describe the city that I and 80,000 others choose to live in.
After helping to fund your Olympic party one would think that a little more gratitude is deserved. The wealth generated in the resource-based communities across B.C. funds many Lower Mainland benefits such as the provincial educational institutions. Sadly, we can only build it - we cannot be assured that people in positions of public influence, such as the DJ with the poor taste quote, will come.
Vancouver is a beautiful city but this is partly because it does send its garbage to outposts in the Interior and the U.S. whenever it can find a way. If we want to stick to the body part analogy we all know what part of the anatomy the waste comes from.
