In an online poll, the Citizen asked readers: Are you spending more or less money on your kids during back-to-school shopping this year?
Here are the results:
178 votes (25%) - A lot more, inflation has driven the cost of everything up.
83 votes (12%) - A little more, trying to save wherever I can.
138 votes (20%) - About the same, can't afford to spend any more.
65 (9%) - A little less, going second-hand wherever I can.
239 votes (34%) - A lot less, already up to my eyeballs in higher food, housing costs.
There were 703 votes cast when the poll was on the website from Aug. 26 to Sept. 18.
