In an online poll, the Citizen asked readers: How do you feel about the city's plans with Millennium Park?
Here are the results:
526 votes (59%) - Long overdue, the encampment should never have been allowed there.
135 votes (15%I) - It's time, the encampment should never have been allowed to deteriorate to this point.
36 votes (4%) - Mixed feelings, see both sides.
3 votes (0%) - Not sure.
3 votes (0%) - More time needed for the encampment's residents.
52 votes (6%) - It's completely wrong without adequate housing and support for the residents.
59 votes (7%) - No point because the problems will just move to other parts of downtown.
71 votes (8%) - No point because the underlying issues (poverty, addiction, mental health, intergenerational trauma, etc.) remain.
There were 885 votes cast when the poll was on the website from Sept. 4 to 12.
