Foul play not good for tournament or students

I am writing this letter to you and all of your readers to let them know that the girls rugby team from PGSS and the girls and boys rugby team from Duchess Park represented their schools and community very well and showed wonderful sportsmanship.

I am writing this letter to you and all of your readers to let them know that the girls rugby team from PGSS and the girls and boys rugby team from Duchess Park represented their schools and community very well and showed wonderful sportsmanship. It is a tough and rough game and not many students participate but they are always looking for new team members and you do not have to be the most sports minded or athletic person to play. This weekend was fun and the weather perfect for playing. There was only one down side to this whole event and that was a team from out of town. This team has participated twice in events held here for rugby and on both occasions they have proven to be a team with extremely poor sportsmanship and ethics. High tackles are dangerous and are not allowed for a very good reason. They break collar bones and cause neck injuries. My child played and has now had her entire rugby summer destroyed because of this team. Broken collar bone equals rugby cancellation for summer. So I say thanks a lot to this team and its coach. Playing dirty is not sportsman like or an option but unfortunately that is what this team does just talk to the teams that have played against them. Yes, rugby is a rough sport and yes you do get hurt and broken bones on occasion, but it should not be due to the fact rules are being broke and avoidable injuries are happening. My child now has to wait for fall for something she loves to play because of somebody's ignorance. Overall the sport is fun and one team should not destroy that fact. Congratulations to all the teams that played clean and have a wonderful summer we hope to see you in the fall.
