I am writing to commend the staff of the Prince George hospital after my recent stay there.
I'm from Richmond, but I was in Prince George with my son and grandson for my grandson's minor hockey tournament on April 3 when I began to suffer excruciating chest pains. We went to the hospital, the staff diagnosed it as a heart attack and I was admitted in short order.
I've had some health issues in recent years and I've unfortunately become all too familiar with various hospitals across the Lower Mainland. Never have I see a staff so focused on bedside manner as the one in Prince George.
A nurse, knowing that I was from out of town, stayed long past her shift had finished on my first night to make sure I was comfortable. The other nurseson our floor were similarly attentive and courteous.
Most of all, I'd like to think Dr. Robin Lowry.I've never met a doctor so thorough. And he continually went out of his way to explain what their plans were and why. He even spent an hour on the phone with one of my sons in New Westminster to make sure my family had all the latest information on my situation.
It was an awful ordeal, being so sick in the hospital so many miles away from home, but the staff at Prince George did everything they could to try to make it bearable. I can't thank them enough for what they did and how much better I feel now.
