I am offended! The latest round of federal and provincial Propoganda (radio adds) with regards to the HST Referendum is downright offensive! Do you want my opinion of the HST? Here it is. Let us refer to previous promises by our various Federal Governments. Promises like "The GST will be abolished". Well? I'm waiting.
Now the latest... "Dropping the HST to 10 per cent will be Federal Law." Pardon me for being so naive and stupid, but why is the HST even close to 10 per cent? By my calculations, with elimination of the GST (as originally promised) and the current 2 per cent reduction being offered, the HST should come in at 4 per cent.
Ask me if I trust anything a government official has to say to me. I don't!
