No matter the circumstances of the recent event on Oak Street, I strongly disagree with the picture of the murder victim being shown on the front page of Monday's edition of the paper.
This was completely disrespectful to the family and friends of the victim. The public is entitled to know about the event, but the public is also entitled to the story being handled with compassion, empathy and respect. In this case, choosing not to publish a graphic photograph of someone's loved one gunned down in the street would definitely have been the more humane decision.
